Role Description The position is based in the EEA Coordination Division (ECD), and reports to the Deputy Secretary General/Director of ECD.  In the role of Head of EEA Policy Coordination in the Brussels Secretariat the successful applicant will have the responsibilities of: Preparation and organisation of the activities and meetings of the EFTA Standing Committee, the EEA Joint Committee, and the EEA Council, in close collaboration with the EFTA management and colleagues from other divisions; Managing a team comprised of a Temporary Policy Officer and Junior Professional, including line management responsibilities; Providing support and coordination for the work of the EEA EFTA States in Brussels and maintaining close working relationships with their Missions; Working closely with the Secretariat-General of the European Commission, relevant EU Commission Services and the EU Council Presidency and General Secretariat in the organisation and preparation of these meetings; Monitoring relevant developments of the EU and their impact on the EEA and the EFTA States, and provide input to reports and briefings to advisory bodies, working groups and subcommittees as well as visiting groups; Providing substantive briefings and policy analysis, both internally and externally, on EEA-related developments in the EU.
